REMPD Overview
How to Use the REMPD
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Renewable Energy Materials Properties Database (REMPD) is a consolidated repository for data on the materials used in wind and solar plants. The database lists the type and amount of material required per megawatt (MW) of generation capacity and provides information about each material and its sources.
This web application uses the following structure to describe the REMPD and visualize some of its data:
- Overview
- The Overview sections (REMPD Overview, Wind Overview, and Solar Overview) summarize the capabilities, definitions, and metrics used in the REMPD.
- These sections reproduce much of the content that is published in the Renewable Energy Materials Properties Database: Summary report.
- The Overview sections (REMPD Overview, Wind Overview, and Solar Overview) summarize the capabilities, definitions, and metrics used in the REMPD.
- Quantity, Properties, Uses, Source, Availability
- The Wind Quantity, Solar Quantity, Properties, Uses, Source, Wind Availabliity, and Solar Availabliity sections visualize a subset of the data that are available in the REMPD.
- Further analysis of future wind energy material quantities can be found in the Materials Used in U.S. Wind Energy Technologies: Quantities and Availability for Two Future Scenarios report.
- The Wind Quantity, Solar Quantity, Properties, Uses, Source, Wind Availabliity, and Solar Availabliity sections visualize a subset of the data that are available in the REMPD.
- Resources
- The Resources section provides links to download an open-source version of the REMPD and comma-separated value (CSV) files of the core REMPD data tables, along with information on the REMPD team, a recommended citation for the REMPD, and related publications.
